Linking to Database Articles and Searches

How to Create Links to ProQuest Articles

  1.  Search a ProQuest database for the full-text article you want.

  2. Click on the individual article link.

  3. Scroll down to “Article URL.”

  4. Copy the article’s URL and paste it into your web page.

Note: Older links to ProQuest articles created using SiteBuilder will continue to work.

How to Create Links to ProQuest Searches

  1. Search a ProQuest database using the search you want.

  2. Click on any individual article link from the search results.

  3. Check the “Mark Article” box.

  4. Click on the “Marked List” tab at the top right of the page.

  5.  When the Marked List screen comes up, click on the “My Research Summary” tab.

  6. Scroll down to the “Recent Searches” section.

  7. Copy the URL for the search you want from beneath the “Recent Searches” heading and paste it into your web page.

How to Create Links to EBSCOhost Articles

  1. Search an EBSCOhost database for the full-text article you want.

  2. Click on the individual article link.

  3. Scroll down to "Persistent Link to this Article."

  4. Copy the article's URL and paste it into your web page.

How to Create Links to EBSCOhost Searches

  1. Perform a search in any EBSCOhost database.

  2. Click on the file folder icon that says “Add” (be sure to use the folder at the top of the page, following the list of databases searched).

  3. Click on the file folder icon that says “Folder has items.”

  4. Click on the link called “Persistent Links To Searches.”

  5. Copy the URL and paste it into your web page. There is also an option to save the link to disk or to e-mail it.

How to Create Links to Electronic Books from netLibrary

  1. Search the ISU Library Catalog (LUIS) for the book title.

  2. Click on the individual LUIS record for the e-book.

  3. Right-click the link that says “An electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web.”

  4.  Select “Copy Shortcut” from the menu that appears.

  5. Paste this URL into your web page.
