(
Five-Reel 35mm Microfilm Set)

Additional Citations from Three-Reel 16mm Microfilm Set

Student assistants over a series of several years compiled and revised the entries below.
The version below was verified and produced by Dennis Vetrovec.
Prefatory remarks by Dr. David Vancil

Among materials donated by Oscar Edelman was a selection of newspaper clippings and journal articles, which were subsequently microfilmed. The earliest entries are from about 1894 with the latest appearing around 1970. Of course, while these materials are available for use on-site, copyright restrictions may apply to their future publication in part or whole. Users should be aware of current copyright law and understand that fair-use guidelines will apply with respect to reproduction from our holdings.

The index below represents the most readily identifiable selections found on the 35mm microfilm. An earlier 16mm version of the microfilm exists, and a few entries not found in the refilmed 35mm version have been noted in an appended listing. If additional entries pertaining to Debs or socialism are identified on either the 16mm or 35mm microfilm sets, the listings below may be updated.

It should be noted that 35mm microfilm set contains additional material, e.g., letters donated after the completion of the commercially distributed The Papers of Eugene V. Debs and the contents of family scrapbooks. Additional letters and contents of the scrapbooks will be made accessible bibliographically in separate indexes.

The 35mm and 16mm entries are listed in two separate files. Arrangement of the entries is by name of publication, year of publication, month and day of publication, the title and author when known, followed by the reel on which the item is found. For additional information, you may use the browser independent e-mail form or the e-mail link at the bottom of the page. The department phone number is 812/237-2610.
