For Spring Break this year, Tabitha Farquer, who is a student assistant in SCCM, traveled all the way to the Big Apple to see what she could see. And oh man, did she see a lot! Tabitha discovered that elevators in NYC are used for more than just upward and downward mobility. She was also attacked by a seagull, who must have figured she had purchased that sandwich just for him. But other than these startling incidents, the trip went well. Tabitha, who will graduate this May from ISU, with a degree in elementary education, was excited by the opportunities the city had to offer and spent some of her time gathering information to store for use in her career as a teacher. Thanks to Tabitha for sharing pictures of her journey with us, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Tabitha said the flowers and memorials stretch for blocks past the Ground Zero site. In the background of this picture is the church that miraculously remained standing after the collapse of the Twin Towers

A sign acknowledging the efforts of firefighters during the attack. The sign reads "Salute Our Heroes" and Tabitha says they are posted all over the city
