ISU's Juried Student Art Exhibition 2002

By Carol Jinbo

On the night of Thursday, February 14th, yes - Valentine's Day, Michael Somers was busy presenting the Cunningham Memorial Library Purchase Award at ISU's Juried Student Art Exhibition. The award this year went to Jeffrey Garrett, a graduate art student at ISU's for his "untitled" ceramic sculpture. Jeffrey is pictured with his multi-colored ceramic sculptural teapot. Since we give a purchase prize that means we are purchasing the artwork and when the exhibition is over we get to put the work of art in the Library. We are most anxious to find a nice spot in the Library for this sculpture to live and be enjoyed.

The juried student art exhibition is in the University's Art Gallery in the Center for Performing and Fine Arts Building (7th & Chestnut) through March 1, 2002. Take time, maybe some day during your lunch hour and see the show! The quality of the work this year is good and it is well worth your time to go take a look at the student's work.
