CINAHL stands for the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature.  It indexes over 1800 nursing and allied health journals, some back to 1982.

Full text can be found for over 70 journals as well as for legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials.  Abstracts are available for most citations.

The Pre-CINAHL section of the database includes recently published articles for which full indexing, abstracts and full text are not yet available.

Searches can be limited to include only full text articles, only articles with abstracts or peer reviewed articles, and by many other specifications.

Searches can be expanded to search for terms within the full text of an article as well as within the citation, title and abstract.

Search results can be printed directly, sent by e-mail or saved to a disk or hard drive.
