Introduction

This tutorial is designed to provide background information on the CINAHL database and to demonstrate effective methods for searching this database for nursing and allied health literature.

CINAHL stands for Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature.  The CINAHL database covers more than 1,600 nursing and allied health journals, some back to 1982.  It also provides information about consumer health and alternative health care.
