Types of Articles: Trade Trade articles keep professionals up to date on the new trends and ideas in their trades or professions. Trade publications have practical, "how-to" articles on topics for their readers. Although trade articles are written for professionals; they are different from scholarly articles. Scholarly articles report on research, while trade articles give the reader "how-to" or "how-I-did-this" information.
