Ways to Use Turnitin in a Course

You can use Turnitin solely as a first line of plagiarism detection. Students submit their papers and you alone read the originality reports.

You can also use Turnitin to teach students about use of sources. You can show your students their originality reports. Large amounts of highlighted text in the reports may mean that they have relied too heavily on quotations or have plagiarized. The students can then revise and resubmit their papers.
